Travis McNeil

Provide some quick background about yourself. Where were you born or raised? Any education/degrees/certs?
I was born in Norfolk, VA, and I graduated from ITT Technical Institute with an associate degree in drafting and design. After school, I met my wife, Shellynn, and we decided to move to New Jersey. I have three wonderful children, A’Kyra, Priya and Travis II. We enjoy spending time together whether it’s at home, down the shore or camping.

Prior to joining CMC, what did you know about energy efficiency or the industry? What made you join CMC?
Before joining the CMC team, I worked with adults with disabilities as a direct support professional. Helping people has always made me feel fulfilled, and my work with CMC inspires me every day.

What motivates you about the work that you do?
I’m a person that loves to help people. When going into someone’s home, I know I can help them make their home more energy efficient. I also enjoy answering their questions, make them feel comfortable that CMC is there to help and that I’ll leave the house with upgrades that make a real difference on their bills.

What was a recent personal or team “win” (project or initiative) that went well and/or you are proud of?
My everyday win in life is waking up to my family and being able to thank God for all that I have been blessed with.

Camping with the family.

What do you do for fun? Do you have any hidden talents, hobbies or interests?
I love to spend time outdoors and with my family. My favorite hobbies are playing horseshoes, camping, fishing and crabbing.

Do you have any plans for the next few months, fall vacations, etc.?
Yes! We are planning a family getaway to the Dominican Republic. No dates have been finalized yet, but we’re hoping to get down there sometime over the winter.
