This month we spotlight Ronald Dutra, Quality Assurance Inspector II from our Massachusetts branch. Take a minute to learn more about Ronald, meet his family and hear about his impressive summer DIY project!

Provide some quick background about yourself? Where were you born or raised? Any education/degrees/certs? Favorite hobby or activity, if you have one.
I was born and raised in East Providence, RI, but now live in Foster, RI, located in the woods of the state. My wife Pam and I have three children, Autumn, Brady and Logan.

After high school, I joined the military to help pay for college. During my freshman year, I was called back to support the first Gulf War. I graduated from Bryant University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and was an accountant for eight years until I made a career change.

Prior to joining CMC, what did you know about energy efficiency or the industry? What made you join CMC?
Prior to joining CMC, I worked at RISE Engineering as a Residential Energy Specialist for almost a decade. I joined CMC to get a different perspective on the energy efficiency field.

What do you do for fun? Do you have any hidden talents or interests?
I enjoy weightlifting and fitness training, as well as walking, hiking and watching the New England Patriots on Sundays. On the weekend, my wife, our friends and I enjoy going to see 80’s cover bands. I also enjoy DIY home projects and am always tinkering around or updating something.

Do you have any plans for the next few months, summer vacations, etc?
For the next few months, I plan on building my own Finnish sauna in my basement, and we’re taking a family vacation to Myrtle Beach in August.
