November’s Employee Spotlight showcases Justine Kuria, HR Coordinator working out of our PA location. Take it away Justine!
Can you provide me with some quick background about yourself? Where were you born or raised?
I was born in Kenya and moved to the United States, King of Prussia to be specific, when I was three with my family. I’m a Temple University graduate with a degree in Human Resource Management and I’m also pursuing my SHRM certificate.
Currently, I live in Philadelphia with my kitten, Archie. I love to cook, work out and binge Netflix shows. In my free time, I am learning the guitar.
Prior to joining CMC, what did you know of energy efficiency or the industry?
Prior to joining CMC, I did not know much about the industry but am learning more and more every day.
What made you join CMC?
My motivation to join CMC was mainly the culture and values as well as the support of the HR Team. I was excited to be a part of a company that values serving our communities and making a difference to build a sustainable future for all.
What do you like about the work that you do at CMC?
I love being able to connect with new hires and work with other managers and departments at CMC. The HR department currently has multiple projects happening that allow me to be creative and have an impact.
What do you do for fun? Do you have any hidden talents or interests?
I love to work out, travel, cook and hang out with my friends. And when I get a chance, I love to seek some thrills from skydiving, parasailing and other fun activities.
What are you looking forward to this fall?
I am looking forward to exploring more of Philly with my friends, going to the Poconos, spending time with my family and, hopefully, visiting my sister in France.
