This month we spotlight Crysol Lopez-Perez, Quality Assurance analyst from the Hamilton, NJ, Office. Take a minute to hear about Crysol, her role at CMC, her life outside work and her hidden talent!

Please provide some quick background about yourself. Where were you born or raised? Any education/degrees/certs? Favorite hobby or activity, if you have one.
Both my parents are from Oaxaca, Mexico, and migrated to the United States with my brother and two sisters. I come from a big family. I also have three nieces and three nephews. We own a German Shepherd named Mad Max.
I was born in New Brunswick, NJ, and raised in North Brunswick for as long as I can remember. I attended North Brunswick High School, graduated, and began my career at Middlesex College in 2014 obtaining my associate degree in criminal justice. Currently, I live in North Brunswick with my five-year-old son, London.
In my free time, I like to find relaxing activities, such as a day at the beach, hiking trails, or even the adrenaline rush of an amusement park. As a mother, I don’t get to do that very often. The spotlight is always on London whether it be football, basketball, taekwondo or swimming, our schedule is always full.
Prior to joining CMC, what did you know of energy efficiency or the industry? What made you join CMC?
Before joining CMC, I worked in various roles at CLEAResult’s New Jersey call center, contributing to the New Jersey Clean Energy program. This included managing inbound calls, coordinating site visits, training staff and serving as the call center’s quality assurance specialist. CMC presented an opportunity to advance my career in quality assurance, leveraging my existing skills. I was attracted to its diverse energy programs and employee-focused values.

What motivates you about the work that you do?
I’m motivated by building strong relationships with everyone I interact with. I enjoy one-on-one interactions, and I am always impressed with the results our team can achieve. We always champion our successes, highlight teamwork and are open and transparent with each other.

What was a recent personal or team “win” (project or initiative) that went well and/or you are proud of?
I’m proud of a recent project that involved crafting sales hooks for our scheduling programs, resulting in nine effective hooks that significantly boosted customer engagement and scheduling numbers. I also contributed to pre-recording voicemails in Spanish, streamlining the process for customer service representatives. Additionally, I played a role in developing telephone etiquette reminders for scheduling and portfolio meetings.
What do you do for fun? Do you have any hidden talents, hobbies, or interests?
Something many don’t know about me is, I enjoy making sweet treats. Whether it’s chocolate covered strawberries, baking cupcakes or making flan.
Do you have any plans for the next few months, summer vacations, etc?
I’m planning to take my son to Disney World for his birthday in June, and we’re also hoping to wrap up the end of the summer with a small trip to Mexico.
