Ft. Washington, Pennsylvania (February 7, 2020) — Twice as nice! CMC has been selected for the second year in a row for the 2020 Top Workplaces list that will be published in April by the Philadelphia Inquirer and Philly.com, both of which are owned by Philadelphia Media Network.
Joining this year’s winners such as Comcast Corporation, Independence Blue Cross and SAP America is an honor that CMC’s leadership is excited to announce.
“It’s hard to win this award once, let alone twice, so it becomes an even higher honor,” Tina Bennett, President & CEO of CMC Energy. “This recognition is a testimony to all of the employees and the leadership team who make CMC the great company we’ve always believed it was.
“Now, the hard work starts. We need to meet this standard and continue to improve as an employer,” she added. “It also should help us recruit employees who want to join our winning culture.”
Now in its 11th year, the Top Workplaces designation is a coveted honor for companies throughout the Philadelphia region because selection for the list is based solely on employee feedback surveys.
Last year, nearly 200 organizations participated in the survey and more than 36,000 people responded to the questionnaires. There were 133 Philadelphia-area employers selected last year for the recognition.
Any employer can be nominated for the list as long as they have more than 50 employees in the Delaware Valley in the public, private, nonprofit or governmental sector. Philadelphia Media Network partnered with Energage, an employee research and consulting firm, to survey employees, calculate the results and determine the winners.
Employees were asked to respond to an anonymous survey that rated a company’s employee engagement, work-life balance, confidence in company leadership, pay, benefits, training, and several other topics. Companies were then grouped based on their size: small businesses (249 or less employees), midsized (250-999 employees) or large (1,000 or more employees).
