CMC staff members celebrated the Halloween weekend at the YWCA in Hazleton, PA to support PPL’s first ever Energy Savings Day which attracted more than 500 kids, dressed for Halloween fun, their families and community leaders. According to PPL Manager of Energy Efficiency Programs & Evaluation Pete Cleff, the event, which offered energy efficiency tips, demonstrations and services to attendees, was “a huge success.”

The inaugural celebration saw more than 90 customers apply for PPL’s low-income Winter Relief Assistance Program and other support services, while enjoying a range of activities from a bicycle rodeo and bicycle giveaway, to live music, photo booth, petting zoo, and many more giveaways.

PPL’s Energy Savings Day partners included Clean Markets, the American Red Cross, the Hershey Company, Lehigh Valley Health Network, Ocean Spray, Penn State Hazleton Engineering Club, and Turkey Hill Dairies. Awards were also presented to Bimbo Bakeries and Hazlewood Apartments, for their participation in PPL’s energy efficiency programs.
