SUMMARY:

The Director of Marketing will lead CMC’s newly formed Marketing team comprised of corporate, program and contract marketing functions:

  • Guide and support the program and contract marketing team in the implementation of marketing strategies that raise awareness, increase engagement, and ultimately drive participation in energy efficiency and energy management programs and services. Guide the coordination of marketing services and best practices across the team by organizing work and mobilizing resources against key priorities.
  • Manifest CMC being Out in Front by cultivating the company’s overall brand, strategies and objectives through CMC thought leadership. Raise raising industry awareness of the suite of CMC services.
  • Elevate marketing skills and impact across all contracts and programs through the continual analysis of market trends and positioning of competitors. Ensure CMC marketing delivers on customer and contract expectations.
  • Partner with Customer Engagement to create marketing strategies that resonate with customers and reflect customer behavior and experiences.
  • Guide the coordination of marketing services and best practices across the team.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Oversee the implementation of the marketing strategies in support of program, contract and corporate marketing and public relations functions. Guide the day-to-day activities of the marketing teams.
  2. Guide the coordination and implementation of marketing services and best practices across the team. Organize work and mobilize resources against key priorities and be accountable for outcomes.
  3. Elevate marketing skills and impact across all contracts and programs through the continual analysis of market trends and positioning of competitors. Ensure CMC marketing delivers on program customer and contract expectations and adjust marketing strategies and plans as necessary.
  4. Manage and measure marketing campaign costs. Report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns using pre-determined KPIs.
  5. Ensure the teams are leveraging systems and tools to perform at their highest levels. Create business case for all resources and tools necessary to elevate marketing capabilities.
  6. Provide tools and materials to enable the Customer Engagement and Operations teams to function effectively. Support customer journey mapping and persona development to strengthen marketing and customer engagement effectiveness.
  7. Independently build and maintain relationships across the organization and seek opportunities for collaboration and enhanced performance.
  8. Remain curious and network outside of the organization to stay current on marketing trends.
  9. Seek opportunities to bolster contract marketing opportunities and contribute to CMC growth.
  10. Be responsible for the performance management of direct reports and the coaching, mentoring, succession planning, salary administration and overall talent management of the team in line with company values.
  11. Have direct financial and operational accountability for budgets. Oversee activities related to preparation of annual budgets; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  12. Lead the corporate marketing to support CMC brand awareness internally and externally in support of CMC growth and new business opportunities.
  13. Oversee the design, content, and production of all corporate marketing and communications content and materials. This includes select internal communications in coordination with HR to ensure consistent with the branding and mission of the organization.
  14. Plan and execute a marketing strategy for the CMC’s new and existing products or services. Manage and refine CMC’s social media presence.
  15. Coordinate ongoing website updates to remain current and reflective of strategic objectives. Ensure that timely, relevant, and engaging information is posted to the corporate site, CMC social assets, and shared through subject matter LinkedIn posts.
  16. Develop and implement effective communication strategies that strengthen customer relationships, brand awareness, and customer satisfaction.
  17. Elevate marketing skills and impact across all contracts and programs through the continual analysis of market trends and positioning of competitors. Ensure CMC marketing delivers on customer and contract expectations.
  18. Support new business opportunities and responses to RFPs. Support contract negotiations for program and contract marketing services.
  19. Ensure that work is conducted in compliance with OSHA and company safety procedures.
  20. Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or related field required, and advanced degree in marketing or business preferred.
  2. 8-10+ years in marketing management, product management, agency marketing and/or professional marketing consulting.
  3. 5+ years of experience in operating and P&L oversight with increasing levels of responsibility.
  4. 2+ years of experience in the energy sector. Passion for environmental sustainability a plus.
  5. Familiarity with demand side management programs and residential and commercial energy-saving technologies
  6. Strong supervision skills to lead, direct, coach and mentor. 5+ years of supervisory experience.
  7. Creative and seasoned leader with proven experience in leading marketing and cross-functional teams.
  8. Demonstrated experience developing marketing and communications strategies and plans that resonate and deliver results aligned with goals.
  9. Demonstrated experience developing customer engagement approaches that target, attract and retain customers. Demonstrated expertise in achieving/exceeded marketing goals.
  10. Promote collaboration, accountability, respect, and empowerment and provides ongoing coaching and development to employees.
  11. Ability to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced work environment with a proven track record of working hand-in-hand with other leaders to achieve goals.
  12. Excellent written, oral and presentation skills as well as strong interpersonal ability with the ability to present ideas in business and user-friendly language.
  13. Ability to handle confidential information with the highest level of integrity and ethics.
  14. Able to successfully complete a background check, education verification, previous employment review and drug test to comply with company policies.
  15. Although this position is based in Fort Washington, PA, travel to other offices may be occasionally required.
  16. Able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
