CMC continues its holiday focus of giving back this week with volunteer days at Cradles to Crayons in Philadelphia, Boston and Chicago. Nearly 130 employees will represent CMC at these locations, packing items of clothing to ship to children in need. Each of these three communities have approximately 200,000+ children living in low-income or poverty-stricken households, which makes our service day both necessary and impactful.

“Being a part of something bigger than ourselves is going to be very fulfilling,” said Chloe Nelson, a Customer Care Representative in CMC’s Massachusetts location. “I’m really looking forward to taking part in an event with my co-workers that will positively influence our future generation.”

“As a parent, I get to experience the ups and downs of parenthood,” said Angelique Mack, a Customer Care Representative at CMC’s corporate headquarters in Ft. Washington, PA. “I also understand the impact volunteering has on the community. I was ecstatic to be able to volunteer at Cradles to Crayons. It truly takes a village to raise a child and I am glad to be a part of the village.”

Cradles to Crayons helps address the nationwide issue of childhood poverty, providing children from birth to age 12 with essential items that they need to thrive at home, school and play. Without adequate clothing, children face unfair barriers in life. Cradles to Crayons helps even the playing field through its support of providing “clothing insecure” children with the essentials that they need to be successful.

“We are thrilled to have CMC Energy join us in our Giving Factory this November,” said Molly Boyd, Manager of Corporate Engagement, Cradles to Crayons – Philadelphia. “In an effort to provide over 20,000 local children with the essential items they need this winter, CMC will help us reach our goal by serving hundreds of children in a single day of service. Thank you for doing your part to help local children feel safe and warm this season!”
