Tom Desimpel

Tom is a director at CMC responsible for the vision, program design and implementation of PECO portfolio operations in Pennsylvania. He has been overseeing field operations for more than 40 years, has worked with local utilities for more than 16 years, and is currently overseeing multiple office locations and 80+ employees. With a background in building science as well as program and operations management, he has achieved measurable energy efficiency benefits for clients through comprehensive scopes of work and by ensuring that necessary resources are dedicated to meeting all program goals while managing profit and loss expectations.

Before joining CMC in 2011, Tom was a Contract Engineer Specialist at PSE&G responsible for the administration and support of the New Jersey Comfort Partners and the Whole House Energy Efficiency programs. As a subject matter expert specializing in residential energy savings for low-income households, Tom performed energy and financial analysis throughout PSE&G’s territory. He also served as Vice President and Regional Director for Lennar Corporation overseeing the development of active adult communities across the United States.

Tom has an Economics degree from the University of Michigan, holds a builder’s license for the state of Michigan, and is a BPI-certified Building Analyst.

Outside of work, he enjoys home improvement projects, country line dancing with his wife, and supporting animal welfare causes.
