Let’s welcome Tim Hays to the CMC team. Tim will oversee program delivery for all operations in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and South Jersey Industries (SJI). Tim brings a wealth of experience as a transformative leader known for driving growth, building high-performing teams and delivering lasting operational excellence.

Can you tell us a little bit about your professional background?
I’m an operations leader who’s all about building strong teams, strong relationships and creating an environment where people can grow and succeed. Throughout my career, I’ve led everything from small teams to large, multi-unit operations—always with a focus on developing talent, improving performance, and building a culture of trust, accountability and collaboration. I’ve helped companies grow fast, launched new divisions from scratch and driven big results, but what I’m most proud of is the people I’ve worked with and the teams we’ve built together. I believe that real success comes from investing in people, leading with clarity and empathy, and creating space for others to thrive. For me, it’s all about making a meaningful impact and helping both the business and the people in it move forward together.
How did you learn about CMC Energy Services?
I am blessed to have a large and diverse professional network that includes many trusted former work colleagues. Two of my colleagues that I worked closely with are currently enjoying successful careers at CMC. Based on their recommendations, I started researching CMC and engaged in conversations about potential opportunities.
What interests you the most about CMC and its vision and values?
CMC’s commitment to bringing value to the communities we serve while helping to build a sustainable future is a mission that I am proud to be a part of. While all the CMC core values resonate with me personally and professionally, the concept of “You Before I” or servant leadership is a value that I strive to bring to my work every day.
What do you do with your free time?
My wife, Kristy, and I love to spend time with our two daughters, supporting them in their sports and artistic ventures. We also enjoy travelling and having new experiences as a family. I love to express myself musically by playing the saxophone, and I stay in shape by playing ice hockey.
As a sports crazy company, what teams do you support?
I am a passionate fan of the St. Louis Blues, St. Louis Cardinals and the Buffalo Bills.
