This month we spotlight Melinda Kelley, customer care representative III serving our PSE&G programs. Let’s learn more about Melinda!
Provide some quick background about yourself? Where were you born or raised? Any education/degrees/certs? Favorite hobby or activity, if you have one.
I grew up in Milpitas, California, a smaller town outside of San Francisco. After graduating from high school, I bounced around the country and have lived in several different states.
Prior to joining CMC, what did you know about energy efficiency or the industry? What made you join CMC?
Prior to my time with CMC, I was aware of energy efficiency, but not as informed as I am now. I’ve always tried to be energy conscious and use efficient products as much as possible. I was thrilled to be asked to join CMC because the company legacy and leadership were very interesting to me.
What motivates you about the work that you do?
I love helping people, I enjoy educating people on the benefits of being more energy aware and the programs that are available to them from their utility.
What was a recent personal or team “win” (project or initiative) that went well and/or you are proud of?
Our team has worked diligently to improve our abandonment rate and have consistently kept it under the key performance indicators (KPIs) for our contract. We are also identifying trends and inefficiencies in our programs and processes to help improve the customer experience, which we pride ourselves on.
What do you do for fun? Do you have any hidden talents, hobbies or interests?
I have two beautiful granddaughters that I love spending time with. I enjoy baking cupcakes, hiking and expanding my houseplant collection.
Do you have any plans for the next few months, vacations, etc.?
I’m planning a weekend surprise trip in November to celebrate my daughter’s 21st birthday.
