Gayatri Mehta, Program Support Supervisor in CMC’s Cranbury, NJ office, was born in India and immigrated to the United States in 1973. Prior to joining CMC in 2008, Gayatri graduated from William Paterson University with a degree in Computer Science. While pursuing her degree, Gayatri joined DMC Energy (now Honeywell) which she says “sparked her interest in energy conservation.” Currently, she lives in South Brunswick, NJ with her husband and two boys, Neil and Jay. In her free time, Gayatri enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, watching her favorite sports (football and soccer) while also training in the martial artform of Karate.

Prior to joining CMC, what did you know of energy efficiency or the industry?
Before working at CMC, I was already working in the energy industry at DMC Energy, Public Service Electric and Gas (PSE&G), and Jersey Power and Light (now First Energy) while in college and thereafter.

What made you join CMC?
After taking a break from the industry to raise my children, I joined CMC in 2008 to continue to pursue my career.

What do you like about the work that you do at CMC?
I am passionate about the idea of helping customers be more energy efficient yet be comfortable in their homes while saving money.

What do you do for fun? Do you have any hidden talents or interests?
A fun fact about me is that I am training for my Black Belt in Karate.  I also enjoy kickboxing, hiking, traveling, and being with my family and friends.

Besides work, how are you keeping busy during our “stay at home” period?
During this pandemic “stay at home” period, I gained a deeper appreciation of nature and spirituality.  So, I make time for frequent walks and meditate while listening to meditative music.
