The giving spirit is strong among CMC employees! We received several nominations for contributions for non-profit groups that they hold close to their hearts in honor of CMC’s 45th anniversary celebration. Here’s just a few comments on why team members nominated their respective organizations, who will each receive a substantial gift from CMC.
“The Embrace Kids Foundation supports families who have children fighting sickle cell anemia, which is commonly diagnosed in the African American community,” said Lesa Diggs, associate marketing manager, in her nomination email. “As a person who carries the ‘trait’ of sickle cell and the sister of a brother who has sickle cell, my family and I hold this foundation close to our heart as they’ve been supportive of our family for years.”
“I have volunteered for Youth-Outlook in Illinois (a non-profit focused on helping LGBTQ youth) for 10 years helping with fundraising events because I believe in their mission to keep these young people safe and have a sense of belonging,” said Julie Gonzales, quality assurance inspector. “The organization helps educate communities and businesses in dealing with diversity.”
CMC focuses its charitable contributions on three major areas:
- Children
- Families
- The environment and nature
Below is a list of the 10 non-profit organizations selected to receive donations:
