In the coming weeks, you will begin to see a name change on your bill and on our service trucks. This is the last step in a two-year journey for our company that began in July of 2015 when CMC acquired CRI.
While our name is changing, our commitment to you and to our mission is stronger than ever as we continue to work every day to save money for you and energy for our planet.
Your Home Energy Assessment Services – What’s Included
Groton Utility, Bozrah Light and Power, SNEW, and TTD (all non Eversource Gas) customers as well as all Wallingford Residents are eligible for a FREE Home Energy Assessment. Click here to get started.
For a one-time copay of $149*, our team will first perform a comprehensive Home Energy Audit (home energy audit), which includes blower door testing to measure air leaks.
The team will then install an average of $1,100 worth of money-saving core energy efficiency measures in your home, including:
Air sealing and window and door trim caulking
Installing foam on plumbing penetrations
Weather stripping access doors and installing outlet gaskets
Installing LED bulbs and water measures, including sink aerators and low-flow showerheads
All of these home energy consumption measures are performed on the spot on the same day as your home energy evaluation – usually in about 6 hours!
When they’re finished, your CMC Energy Services team will give you a written summary of the work they performed, estimates of what you should expect to save and recommendations for deeper efficiency measures that could be available to you through discounts and rebates (see below).
*$149 for electric or gas heated homes; $174 for propane heated homes
Rebates and discounts on added money-saving measures
You could be eligible for further discounts and rebates that can save you hundreds or even thousands of dollars! These deeper energy efficiency measures include:
Adding Insulation – Proper insulation will lower heating and cooling bills while making your home more quiet and comfortable
Replacing heating and cooling systems – If your boiler, furnace or air conditioner is more than 10 years old, replacing it with a high-efficiency ENERGY STAR unit could help you save 20 percent or more on your energy bills
Upgrading lighting and appliances – High-efficiency ENERGY STAR products, including refrigerators, freezers, clothes washers, dishwashers, dehumidifiers, room air conditioners and more – can save you even more each month.
