CMC Energy Services and Communities

CMC Energy Services works closely with partners in the communities we serve, lending our time and expertise to our neighbors where and when they need it.

We build community impact by participating in the following programs and partnerships:

Operation Fuel
CMC supports Operation Fuel, a private nonprofit program that provides emergency energy assistance to lower-income working families and individuals, the elderly and disabled people who are ineligible for government-funded energy assistance programs. Working through a network of fuel banks, Operation Fuel is Connecticut’s only statewide, year-round emergency energy assistance program.

HES Income Eligible Blitz
CMC sends crews door to door in selected low-income areas to provide services ranging from simple CFL and LED change-outs and weatherization installations to identifying old, inefficient appliances and more.

Community Fundraising Assistance
CMC also provides fundraising assistance for qualified nonprofits and community organizations that need energy service assistance. If you operate a school, church or any other qualified community program*, CMC can help you to raise money and install energy efficiency measures that will lower bills for your organization throughout the year.

Clean Energy Communities
Working with Connecticut Green Bank and Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund, CMC helps cities and towns as they charge toward energy efficiency and clean, renewable energy. Leading communities can qualify for renewable energy systems and “Bright Idea Grants” for energy-saving projects.

*Participation in CMC’s community-based program is subject to approval by utility administrators.
