Cyber security threats are at an all-time high and CMC has directed its focus to Cybersecurity training for all staff. Since cyber-attacks are commonplace, we need CMC employees to become Cyber-crime Operatives, preventing attacks before they can cause harm. Think “Mission Impossible’s” Ethan Hunt, or 007 with a passion for environmental responsibility and continuous improvement.

Just to show how prevalent cyber-crime has become, here are few eye-opening metrics:
• Globally, 30,000 websites are hacked daily*
• 75 percent of organizations around the world experienced a phishing attack in 2020
• Ransomware cases grew by 150 percent
Check out the top 10 cyber-crimes of the past year. These attacks cost companies millions of dollars as well as major business and supply chain interruptions.

Most of these attacks come in the form of phishing, a fraudulent practice of sending malicious emails prompting unsuspecting employees to reveal personal information, such as passwords and credit card numbers. Phishers frequently use emotions like fear, curiosity, urgency and greed to compel recipients to open attachments or click on links. Do not fall for the trap! Foreign Princes do not need your help with a money order.

Make sure to complete your KnowBe4 training modules by November 8. Together CMC Cyber-Crime Operatives (like yourself) can prevent cyber security threats to CMC and our ongoing growth and stability!
