CMC has been a leading provider of home energy efficiency services since 1977. With a highly skilled staff of 65 innovative, dedicated energy engineers, analysts, administrators, auditors and weatherization technicians led by CMC President Eileen McGinnis, CMC has a proven record of success.
CMC’s limited-income programs have been cited as “Exemplary” by ACEEE and have succeeded in reducing home energy bills by an average of 20 percent for 10,000 households per year since 1991. Our Home Tune-uP™ Audit Report is a powerful sales tool that persuades homeowners and especially home-buyers to make deep investments in energy efficiency. By using our Home Tune-uP software, which is more accurate, more detailed, and more customer friendly than others, government sponsored energy efficiency programs can successfully reach their goals, at a much lower cost to the public. CMC has trained 2,000 home inspectors to use our software, and they prefer it because it takes just 20 minutes to process and print, compared to 2-3 hours.
With the increased demand for energy auditors, weatherization specialists and BPI certified contractors, CMC has expanded its training facilities to cover all three types of training and is establishing satellite training schools in areas around the country.
CMC is an established Women’s Business Enterprise headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland, founded in 1977 by Doris Iklé, who is now CMC’s Chief Innovation Officer.
